Head E-Sports Coach

Missouri Valley College seeks a full-time Esports coach. MVC is a private four-year college located in Marshall, Missouri. The Esports coach will be responsible for recruiting qualified student athletes for the Varsity and Reserve teams, development and execution of coaching programs, and coaching and mentoring student athletes in all aspects of gaming and student life.

 Duties and Responsibilities include Coaching and mentoring of student athletes in individual play, game strategies, teamwork, and physical and mental well-being; supervision of graduate assistants, and undergraduate work-study participants; scheduling of practices, scrimmages, league play, tournaments, and travel events.

The head coach will be the college’s Esports representative to the conference, and will manage social media, and college and community events, as well as traveling to LAN tournaments, conferences, seminars, and recruitment events.

Other responsibilities include budgeting, purchasing of equipment and supplies, travel organization, and coordination with college departments, supervision of gaming arena, including updating of software, troubleshooting, security, and preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations of Missouri Valley College, NEC, and any other participated leagues and tournaments.

Must adhere to player eligibility rules and maintenance of all records required to prove eligibility and must devote time to Fundraising through events, campaigns and sponsorships, as well as setting and meeting recruitment and retention goals, encouraging academic excellence, and complying with all standards and directives set by the athletic director.

A valid driver’s license is needed and successful candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Class E or CDL license. Preferred Experience includes competitive or coaching experience in Rocket league, Valorant & Counter Strike and working knowledge of computers and computer gaming programs. Previous teaching, coaching or related experience is an asset.
