Head E-Sports Coach/Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time
SALARY: $8,000 (Academic Year)
FUNCTION: The Head E-Sports Coach/Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing,
and promoting the college’s E-Sports program. This position involves recruiting and training
student-athletes, organizing competitions, and fostering a positive team culture while ensuring
student success academically and competitively.

FUNCTION: The Head E-Sports Coach/Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing,
and promoting the college’s E-Sports program. This position involves recruiting and training
student-athletes, organizing competitions, and fostering a positive team culture while ensuring
student success academically and competitively.
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Development & Management:
• Establish and oversee the structure and competitive play of the college’s E-Sports
program.
• Develop training schedules and practice routines to enhance player performance.
•
Identify and implement strategies to improve team competitiveness.
Recruitment & Player Development:
• Recruit and maintain eligible student-athletes.
• Scout and recruit prospective student-athletes to join the program.
• Mentor players in both game strategy and teamwork.
• Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and provide guidance for maintaining
eligibility.
Competition & Event Coordination:
• Register and coordinate participation in collegiate E-Sports leagues and tournaments.
• Schedule and organize matches, scrimmages, and team-building activities.
• Manage live-streaming and social media presence to enhance program visibility.
Administrative Duties:
• Maintain compliance with college policies and E-Sports governing bodies.
• Prepare and manage the team’s budget, equipment, and gaming facilities.
• Collaborate with IT staff to maintain gaming hardware, software, and network stability.
• Appropriately manage the overall program budgets: scholarship, travel and equipment
• Manage aspects of the program including handling of all equipment and transportation to
and from contests.
• Schedule and attend all contests as approved by the Director of Athletics. Must travel
with the team unless alternate arrangements have been approved, in advance, by the
Director of Athletics.
• Work with Facilities Management, and Director of Athletics to secure facility
rentals when appropriate.
• Promote the academic success of student-athletes
• Attend all scheduled coaching staff meetings unless excused by the Director of Athletics
in advance.
Work Environment & Expectations:
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for practices and
competitions.
• Travel may be required for tournaments and recruitment efforts.
• Ability to engage and inspire students while fostering a culture of sportsmanship and
inclusivity.
• Demonstrate excellent/strong organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrate strong teaching/coaching skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with students
• Ability to provide feedback, support and encouragement to students
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience in E-Sports
coaching/management.
• Strong knowledge of competitive E-Sports titles (e.g., League of Legends, Overwatch,
Valorant, Rocket League, etc.).
• Previous coaching or playing experience at a collegiate or professional level preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Understanding of NCCAA, NJCAA, NACE, or other collegiate E-Sports regulatory
requirements is a plus.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Additional Information:
Employment at Clinton College is contingent upon a background check that is
satisfactory to the College. Failure to provide written authorization for a background
