Summary of Position: The Head E-Sports Coach is responsible for developing, managing and promoting the College’s
E-Sports program. This position involves recruiting and training student-athletes, organizing competitions and
fostering a positive team culture while ensuring student success academically and competitively.
Major Responsibilities:
• Establish and oversee the structure and competitive play of the college’s E-Sports program.
• Is responsible for the supervision of all student athletes during the course of athletic training, practices and games.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve team competitiveness.
• Mentor players in both game strategy and teamwork.
• Works with the Athletic Director in being responsible for keeping inventory of all assigned equipment handed out
at the start of the season and returning inventory at the conclusion of the season.
• Responsible for equipment maintenance and upkeep, and the ordering of equipment.
• Attend rules and coaching clinic as required. Attend all scheduled coaching staff meetings.
• Prepare and determine the requirements, responsibilities, rules, and expectations, and communicate this to all
student athletes prior to the start of the initial practice session and reminders throughout the season.
• Maintain compliance with TMC policies and E-Sports governing bodies.
• Works with Student Services and instructors in maintaining the eligibility of student athletes.
• Promote the academic success of student-athletes.
• Follow and enforce student policies currently in place relevant to athletic participation.
• Register and coordinate participation in collegiate E-Sports leagues and tournaments.
• Responsible for the reporting of game scores to the local media, radio and local newspapers.
• Responsible to assure all student athletes are physically able to participate in E-sports.
• Schedule and attend all matches, scrimmages and team-building activities as approved by the Athletic Director.
Coach must travel with the team to tournaments.
• Collaborate with IT staff to maintain gaming hardware, software and network stability.
• Manage live streaming and social media presence to enhance program visibility.
• Assure that all travel arrangements (i.e. vehicles) are made prior to away games. Responsible for the submitting of
trip, meal, and lodging requests to the Athletic Director or the Business Office in a timely manner.
• Prepare and manage the team’s budget, equipment, gaming facilities, scholarship, travel and equipment.
• Recruits (face-to-face contact, scouting, mail, etc.) and maintain eligible student athletes from the surrounding
area.
• Work with Facilities Manager and Athletic Director to secure the facility.
• The coach’s compensation is directly tied to their ability to recruit a minimum of eight players for the E-Sports team
at TMC. If recruitment is not sufficient, coach will not be compensated.
• Conducts an evaluation of performance of the assistant coach (if applicable).
• Provide to the Athletic Director and V.P. of Student Services a written report on the E-sports season which includes
ways to improve the program.

Head E-Sports Coach
• Actively participate in fund-raising efforts to secure supplemental monies for the TMC athletic program.
• Conducts summer camps as a way to raise money for the E-sports program.
• Promotes programs with community organizations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Major Planning Requirements:
• Organizes, plans, develops and implements an E-Sports program for students attending TMC.
• Successfully plans for all home and away tournaments.
• Plans all practices to the extent student athletes get the maximum benefit.
• Plans and implements a code of conduct for all student athletes and communicates this to all athletes.
Key Relationships:
• Reports to the Athletic Director.
• Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with all coaches and game officials TMC is associated with.
• Develops and maintains a strong and positive working relationship with all student athletes.
• Develops and maintains a strong and positive working relationship with employees at TMC.
Term of Employment:
• This position is seasonal and runs the length of the E-Sports season.
• This position is not full time and is not eligible for benefits.
Working Conditions:
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for practices and competitions.
• Travel may be required for tournaments and recruitment efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong knowledge of competitive E-Sports titles.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid ND driver’s license.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
