Job Description:

• Leads and manages all aspects of the Equipment Operations Area, serving 26 varsity teams and 700+ student athletes.
• Develops and maintains a vision and mission of customer service focused on the needs of AIC student-athletes, coaches, teams and staff.
• Collaborates with coaches to determine equipment and apparel needs.
• Researches equipment and apparel vendors to negotiate the best contract terms and pricing available to the Athletic Department, reducing costs when possible.
• Develops strong working relationship with equipment and apparel vendors to ensure orders are placed and delivered in a timely manner.
• Oversees the equipment procurement process in conjunction with the athletic business office to ensure fiscal responsibility.  Annually provide cost estimations, track expenses, forecast and project future needs and assist in preparing annual equipment budgets for review. 
• Serves as the primary on-site equipment manager for either NCAA DI Men's Ice Hockey or NCAA DII Football for home and away contests. Additionally, ensures the safety, fitting, and quality control of equipment for all sports with significant focus on high contact sports in compliance with best practices and safety standards set by the NCAA and Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA).
• Supervises and oversees the transportation and set-up of athletic equipment to both off campus and home events. 
• Coordinates all services provided through the equipment room relating to the ordering, distributing, fitting, collecting, reconditioning, and maintaining accurate inventory for all uniforms and equipment.
• Serves as oversight and supervisor for the Assistant Equipment Manager, graduate assistants, and work-study students ensuring efficient and effective equipment operations. Responsible for assigning and supervising on-site game duties
• Inspects, provides care, and repairs damaged equipment and uniforms as needed.
• Oversees maintenance and care of team locker rooms ensuring preparedness for home teams, away teams, and officials on game days.
• Other duties as assigned.
   

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to work with diverse group of young adults
• Must be well organized, with the ability to keep good records
• Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to interact with vendors for orders/deliveries
• Be able to communicate effectively with staff and coaches in stressful situations
• Experience working a college equipment operations area
