Position Title: Head Esports Coach
Position Requirements & Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University required.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Relative head coaching experience at a NCAA, NAIA, Junior College institution or professional Esports league equivalent preferred.
- Working knowledge of NACE and the NAIA rules and regulations
- In-depth knowledge of competitive, online PC gaming across multiple platforms
- Expertise in Rocket League, League of Legends, Call of Duty, Valorant and other current competition-level Esports games.
- Ability to lead and manage others successfully.
Valid Chauffeur’s Driver’s License.
CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
Must be able to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective relationships with the community, faculty, students, and staff.
Demonstrated capacity for sound and timely judgment with integrity, honesty, and principled behavior.

Position Summary
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee an ethical process for recruiting and retaining student-athletes for your program.
- Administer your program to be in total compliance with Missouri Valley College, NAIA and Conference regulations and policies.
- Recruit and maintain a Varsity and Varsity reserve team as determined by the administration.
- Consistently communicate with Admissions with your recruiting information.
- Maintain and monitor the eSports Arena and all equipment.
- Plan and organize all practices and matches for the eSports team working closely with game coaches
Responsibilities continued
- Finding and scheduling scrimmages and/or exhibition matches with other collegiate eSports teams
- Stream all practices and collegiate matches – organize and run streaming events for players and students to attend and interact with
- Study each game and understand relevant knowledge on the meta and relevant update patches
- Record and archive matches to enable VOD reviews for feedback and strategy development
- Monitor and stay within the parameters of your budget. All purchase orders, expense forms and check requests must be submitted in a timely manner to the Athletic Director.
- Monitor and submit all required documentation to the FAR and NAIA to assure eligibility for student-athletes.
- Maintain the scholarship average designated by the College for all student-athletes in your program.
- Awarding Institutional Scholarship Funds.
- Attend all athletic department functions and meetings.
- Coordinate all team travel plans with the Transportation Director in a timely manner.
- Assist the SID with news releases, media guides and other team related materials.
- Be a positive role model for your team and monitor discipline guidelines with your team.
- Submit an updated annual inventory of equipment, uniforms and supplies.
- Monitor attendance and academic performance of your team members.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner and display good sportsmanship at all times.
- Work with the Champions of Character Representative to assure that your program is fulfilling NAIA guidelines.
- Cooperate and communicate with the Athletic Training Staff.
- Be loyal and supportive with the Athletic Department staff, Administration and Faculty.
- All other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
