The Athletic Trainer Manager oversees personnel and assists the Operation Director (Athletic Medicine) in program development and management of daily department operations. Manages the delivery of athletic training services according to established practice guidelines. Additionally, as member of the comprehensive sports medicine program, athletic trainers are responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, management and overall rehabilitation of student athletes and their sports-related injuries. Leads and educates student athletes and student workers in use of rehab equipment and exercises, counseling student athletes and evaluating their conditions and progress. Responsible for the management, coordination, and budgeting of the athletics assistant program. In addition to above, if Manager oversees the Football program, she/he will be responsible for the following: - Responsible for Football Program development and management of daily department operations. - Manage significant medical, mental health, neurological and orthopedic emergences within football program which has one of the highest risk for injury in the NCAA and a roster size of 105-130 student athletes - Ensures best medical care is provided and coordinated within this specialty. - Leads and educates Football student athletes and student workers/medical assistants in use of rehab equipment and exercises, counseling football student athletes and evaluating their conditions and progress. - Must work closely with the rehabilitation coordinator and injured Football student athletes with the goal of returning injured football student athletes as safely and quickly as possible. - Responsible for communicating injuries and participation status to the head football coach and position coaches and also relaying concerns and limitations with strength and conditioning staff, especially when those directives are coming from the medical director and/or the team physician.

• In collaboration with the Director, Operation (Athletic Medicine) oversees personnel and program development and management.
• Responsible for onboarding new athletic trainer hires.
• Meet twice annually, at a minimum, with their assigned athletic trainers to set goals, assess progress and provide mentorship
• Conducts annual performance reviews of their assigned staff.
• Reinforce the importance of communication, respect, integrity, accountability, trust and equity/diversity and inclusion. Assists in the development of relevant policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Identifies and coordinates student athletes’ pre-participation physical examinations by taking thorough histories of illnesses and injuries, and assessing range-of- motion, muscle strength and neurological function.
• Performs special tests for joint stability, posture, and more for specific pathologies. Stresses preventative measures including bracing, padding or taping.
• Treats and evaluates injuries at practices and games, and administers first aid when needed, working with physicians or emergency personnel.
• Educates, instructs and supervises athletes in use of rehab equipment and exercises, providing daily counsel and treatment for injuries.
• Evaluates athletes’ physical condition, response and progress, and discusses with appropriate physicians and Director, Operation (Athletic Medicine).
• Informs coaches of the status of student athletes’ conditions, provides referrals to auxiliary medical personnel, and coordinates treatment plans for injured student athletes, as needed. Advises coaches, Director, Operation (Athletic Medicine) and fellow staff members of updates in a timely manner.
• Monitors team practices, athletic equipment, sporting grounds and environmental conditions at home and away competitions, helping to ensure safe training and playing conditions or to advise coaches if unsafe for any reason.
• Assists coaches in designing specific and/or individual conditioning, therapeutic and rehabilitative programs for injured student athletes. Coordinates and schedules pre-participation physical examinations, and helps facilitate fluid, necessary exchanges of information and follow-ups between various athletes, trainers, coaches, physicians and auxiliary medical personnel.
• Responsible for reporting any misconduct and/or actions not in accordance with department guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Responsible for performing duties while traveling and working nights and weekends.
• Stays informed and knowledgeable of developments in the sports medicine field, as well as changing governmental and NCAA legislation and policies which may affect the sports medicine program’s guidelines and decision-making.
• Reads pertinent literature, attends meetings, seminars and conferences, and maintains certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) and National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
• Presents a case study to the athletic training staff annually.
• Student Assistant Program Recruits, interviews, and onboards assistants for the Athletics Assistant Program. Directs athletic training staff, develop policies and procedures for the assistant program and enforces the scope in which the assistants may work. Maintains agreements, arranges training sessions and retains records. Mentors, counsels, disciplines when necessary. Develops and maintains a budget for employees who qualify for workstudy or are eligible for a stipend.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Req Master's degree Degree in Health Administration or related field required

• Req 5 years 5-10 years in a relevant role

• Req Experience in injury prevention, clinical evaluation, immediate care, treatment rehabilitation and reconditioning, organization, administration, and professional responsibility, as outlined by BOC.

• Req Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for handling blood-borne pathogens.

• Req Advanced proficiency in maintaining medical records, including the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

• Req Ability to travel and work nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pref Experience in a lead/supervisory preferred
• Pref 10 years 10+ years experience preferred

The annual base salary range for this position is $95,680.00 - $158,230.00.
