Job Description

The Athletic Trainer Manager oversees personnel and assists the Operation Director (Athletic Medicine) in program development and management of daily department operations. Manages the delivery of athletic training services according to established practice guidelines. Additionally, as member of the comprehensive sports medicine program, athletic trainers are responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, management and overall rehabilitation of student athletes and their sports-related injuries. Leads and educates student athletes and student workers in use of rehab equipment and exercises, counseling student athletes and evaluating their conditions and progress. Responsible for the management, coordination, and budgeting of the athletics assistant program. In addition to above, if Manager oversees the Football program, she/he will be responsible for the following: - Responsible for Football Program development and management of daily department operations. - Manage significant medical, mental health, neurological and orthopedic emergences within football program which has one of the highest risk for injury in the NCAA and a roster size of 105-130 student athletes - Ensures best medical care is provided and coordinated within this specialty. - Leads and educates Football student athletes and student workers/medical assistants in use of rehab equipment and exercises, counseling football student athletes and evaluating their conditions and progress. - Must work closely with the rehabilitation coordinator and injured Football student athletes with the goal of returning injured football student athletes as safely and quickly as possible. - Responsible for communicating injuries and participation status to the head football coach and position coaches and also relaying concerns and limitations with strength and conditioning staff, especially when those directives are coming from the medical director and/or the team physician.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for direct supervision of Athletic Trainers and Athletic Assistants.
  • Assists the Director, Operation (Athletic Medicine) with operations of the department.
