The Head Coach is responsible for the development, coaching, and administration of all aspects of a highly competitive
NCAA
Division II athletic program. The Head Coach will be responsible for management of department wide programs including but not limited to: academic support, game management, serving as a facilities coordinator, recruitment and retention, fundraising, administering budget, procurement of equipment, travel,
NCAA
compliance, and hire and evaluate Assistant Volleyball Coach and volunteer coaches. Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of student-athlete well-being and the student athlete experience. Head coach is responsible for positively representing the University at Southern Intercollegiate Conference events, local media outlets, and coaches shows.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and administer a successful sports program
Recruiting and developing student-athletes who will successfully represent the institution academically and athletically
Scheduling and organizing practice and contests in accordance with applicable Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and
NCAA
regulations
Attending and coaching all games and practices
Administering sports program budget in line with the guidelines provided by the Athletics Department and the Office of Chief Financial Officer
Coordinating procurement of uniforms and equipment
Making travel arrangements for team travel
Keeping abreast and ensuring compliance with the Southern Intercollegiate Conference and
NCAA
regulations while maintaining the highest ethical standards of conduct
Supervising assistant coaches and other program personnel
Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress in collaboration with the Athletics Academic Advisor
Developing and instituting mandatory or voluntary study programs for student-athletes
Fostering student-athletes’ well-being through provision of a safe and a non-discriminatory environment
Ensuring positive student-athlete experience for all athletes in the program
In conjunction with Marauder Athletics, effectively organize and administer a robust fundraising schedule in a timely and effective manner.
Organize and participate in at least one community service event each semester
Organize and engage in at least one community engagement event each year
Participate in department meetings and events
Assist with other sports event management as needed and assigned
Assist and serve on committee and sub-committees as needed
Actively participate in Student Athlete Advisory Committee (
SAAC
appointments and follow up communications on a regular basis
Actively participates as an effective member of team by completing assigned duties, accepting additional assignments reassignments
Assist with seasonal peaks
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college
3 years of coaching experience at intercollegiate level with successful recruiting and competitive record
Demonstrated commitment to rules/policy compliance and a commitment to student-athlete success both academically and athletically and overall student-athlete well-being
Commitment to positive student-athlete experience for the entire team
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is essential as well as maintaining collegial-harmonious working relationships with others
Attend to details to effectively act on policies necessary and appropriate to Marauder Athletics, including Sports Medicine protocols, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs,
NCAA
compliance manual, and the student-athlete handbook. Thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures and the ability to effectively enact them is expected for continuing employment.

Other Qualifications:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance is not available for this position
Report to work obligations to support the department and may require work during Central State University’s winter break and other holidays, if necessary
This position may be considered and essential position with report to work obligations depending on the type of emergency, campus closure, or evacuation
Must meet training and background check qualifications
This position may also require driving responsibility for a Central State University vehicle
Due to driving responsibilities, you must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with CSU’s Vehicle Driving policy
Able to work all shifts and extended hours to include holidays, nights, and weekends
