Description of Responsibilities:
CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
Under general supervision of the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Head Softball Coach plays a key role in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics (IA) and the broader campus community. Situated within the Division of Student Affairs, Intercollegiate Athletics at SUNY Oswego seeks, through the administration of 24 intercollegiate varsity sports, to advance the College's overall mission by preparing student-athletes to be leaders who live ethical and meaningful lives and build a better world as successful SUNY Oswego graduates.
The Head Softball Coach at SUNY Oswego is responsible for development and management of a successful NCAA Division III Softball program. Consistent with SUNY Oswego's, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics mission and strategic priorities, the head coach will provide visionary leadership for staff, coaches, and student-athletes, manage program budget and follow department cost containment measures, recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes from geographically and demographically diverse populations, and ensure compliance with SUNYAC or affiliated conference, NCAA, and institutional policies. The head coach will collaborate with campus partners to ensure student-athlete wellbeing and success.

Staff members must possess a commitment and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of State University of New York at Oswego, SUNYAC or affiliated conference, and the NCAA. Staff members must cooperate with and furnish the NCAA, SUNYAC, or affiliated conference, and/or the institution with truthful and complete information concerning involvement in or knowledge of rules violations. Any person who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective actions as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repeated violations.
