Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Head Softball Coach will support the Director of Athletics and the Softball Program by organizing, coordinating, and promoting a comprehensive program of softball instruction that is designed to meet the needs and interest of the community, NCAA, and the CIAA. This position will also maintain a good working relationship with alumni relations. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.

Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Head Softball Coach will support the Director of Athletics and the Softball Program by organizing, coordinating, and promoting a comprehensive program of softball instruction that is designed to meet the needs and interest of the community, NCAA, and the CIAA. This position will also maintain a good working relationship with alumni relations. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Head Softball Coach will manage and supervise the softball program.
Recruits and maintains specific roster sizes for the softball program.
Monitors, assists, and nurtures student-athletes’ academic progress toward graduation at the college and assists with placement at four-year colleges and universities.
The individual will be responsible for assigning duties and responsibilities to assistant coaches.
Coordinating the issuance, care and inventory of equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Purchasing equipment, supplies and uniforms.
Create filed maintenance plan for softball field in season/out of season
Developing the annual budget. Schedule matches and officials.
Supervise athletes at all times from the time practice or activity starts until it is over. Coordinate the security of all facilities used by the team and coaching staff.
Submit certified rosters, award forms, season records, inventory forms, transportations requests, travel authorization requests, travel expense reports, requisitions and other forms required by the Athletic director.
Ensure the proper completions of physical examinations forms relating to the examinations and to coordinate injuries with the training staff.
Coordinate the distribution, collection, storage of athletic uniforms.
Conduct and handle recruitment of athletes.
Be responsible for awards presentations at awards programs.
