Job Description:
Dean College seeks a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for its NCAA Division III athletic program. This full-time, 10-month position reports to the Director of Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning. The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes in the College's 16 intercollegiate sports. This role aims to enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and promote the overall health and wellness of student-athletes. Additionally, the position provides oversight for all activities associated with the operation of the campus fitness centers and varsity weight room.
Position responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with head coaches, designs, implements, and supervises the strength and conditioning programs for all intercollegiate athletic varsity teams, including the management of web-based programs.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning on the rehabilitation programs for student-athletes.
- Manage the cleanliness of the strength and conditioning facility, ensure equipment maintenance, and oversee the purchasing schedule.
- Teaches one course (or 3 contact hours) during the Fall and Spring semesters (note this teaching load may be reduced to 2 contact hours during a semester depending on scheduling demands).
- Carry out responsibilities related to the daily operations of the campus fitness centers and varsity weight room, including providing coverage in the absence of student employees during business hours.
- Responsible for the comprehensive management of student employment for the campus fitness centers and varsity weight room.
- Responsible for the budget administration of the campus fitness centers and varsity weight room.
- Oversees strength and conditioning facility cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and purchase schedule.
- Complete administrative duties and game management responsibilities as required and assigned.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Human Performance required.
- 2+ years of coaching strength and conditioning required, at the collegiate level preferred.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S) through the National Strength & Conditioning Assocation.
- Current First Aid, CPR, AED certification.
- Solid comprehension of NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
- Able to work off hours, including weekends.
- Excellent oral, written, problem solving, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex and multiple tasks in a professional and efficient manner.
