Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

Coker University is accepting applications for the position of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Coker is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the South Atlantic Conference. This position will oversee all aspects of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program including, but not limited to, development and implementation of performance enhancement, sport specific conditioning and injury programs for more than 450 student-athletes. Responsibilities will also include scheduling and managing the daily operations of the intercollegiate weight room, main fitness room, and maintenance of all related equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develops and implements all aspects of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program. Plan, organize, and execute a dynamic training program to develop and prepare student-athletes to maximize their potential and pursue excellence in athletic achievement. Ensure enforcement of NCAA and SAC rules and regulations pertaining to in season, out of season, and summer strength workouts. Oversee the purchase and maintenance of strength and conditioning equipment. Work with the nutritionist to assist in the design of pre and post workout meals. Responsible for the oversight and training of CPR/AED certification for all Athletics department staff. Consults with the athletics training staff to determine the participation status of injured student-athletes and works with the athletic training staff to enhance the rehabilitation programs for student-athletes. Maintains communication with departmental staff, coaches, and medical staff. Assist with on-campus recruiting of prospective student-athletes. Contributes to the overall success of the Athletics Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
