SUMMARY
Advance the mission and vision of TMUS by providing leadership, vision, and oversight for all aspects of the
strength and conditioning program for student-athletes. This role is responsible for developing and
implementing performance training programs that enhance athletic performance, reduce injury risk, and
promote overall physical wellness.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Design and implement sport-specific strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for all
varsity athletic teams.
• Periodize training programs to align with competitive seasons and individual athlete needs.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to improve performance outcomes and reduce injury risk.

• Communicate effectively with athletics leadership regarding program effectiveness.
• Record and maintain athlete training data, attendance, and performance metrics using designated
tracking systems.
• Provide general education to athletes on injury prevention, recovery practices, and safe training
principles.
• Coordinate daily training schedules with Head Coaches and Athletic Trainers.
• Assist Athletic Trainers with supervised return-to-play conditioning as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of weight room and training facilities.
• Report equipment needs, safety concerns, or facility issues to supervisors.
• Enforce facility rules and safety protocols during training sessions.
• Responsible for the management of the Fitness Center including employee training and scheduling,
access control, risk management, policy development and enforcement, maintenance and cleaning

• Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a demonstrated commitment to the doctrinal
position of TMUS and a continuous exhibition of a desire to minister and serve others in varied
capacities.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty,
vendors, students, &/or community members of diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, & ethnic
backgrounds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Service oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work
effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Exercise confidentiality, good judgment and discernment.
• Must successfully pass a background investigation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
• Oversee the direct reports within the Fitness Center department.
• Assign, plan, and oversee the work of assigned departmental staff.
• Support in training employees, verify timecards, and monitor budget.
• Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with TMUS policy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or closely related field, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience working with collegiate or high school athletes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of strength training and conditioning principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Current nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification (e.g., CSCS, SCCC, USAW).
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Familiarity with athletic performance tracking systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Ability to demonstrate physical exercises and lifting techniques.
• Ability to lift, move, and set up equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods during training sessions.

• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends.
• Work is primarily performed in athletic training facilities, weight rooms, and outdoor fields.
• No travel with overnight stay expected.
