| Job Summary/Basic Function |
The Strength & Conditioning Coach will provide expertise, guidance, training, coaching and motivation in the area of strength training and physical conditioning for all student-athletes. The coach will also work as a consultant to head coaches in the athletics department. This coach will design, coordinate and implement a strength and conditioning program that develops sport specific athletic skills for all nineteen intercollegiate athletic programs. This coach will implement periodic and regular testing of student-athletes’ strength and conditioning gains to determine the program’s effectiveness and maintain accurate records of student-athletes’ progress. This coach is also responsible for some scheduling, staffing, maintenance and upkeep of the Carpenter-Trout Strength Training facility. This coach will work in close communication with the MU Athletic Training staff. This coach is expected to strictly adhere to established NCAA, PSAC and Millersville University rules and regulations. This position reports to the Athletic Director.
Contract renewed on annual basis.

- NCAA recognized current certification either as:
- Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) OR
- Strength & Conditioning Coach Certification (SCCC) OR
- other recognized professional certification.
Demonstrated ability to:
Knowledge & commitment to rules & regulations of NCAA, PSAC and Millersville University.
Ability to strictly adhere to established NCAA, PSAC, Millersville University rules and regulations.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
Evidence of a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Valid driver’s license.
Successful interview.

| Job Description |
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages and conducts all phases of a strength & conditioning program for all nineteen Millersville University intercollegiate athletic programs.
Designs, coordinates and implements in-season and off-season strength & conditioning programs.
Ensures appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting strength & conditioning sessions.
Works with physicians and Athletic Trainers to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
Regularly tests student-athletes to determine effectiveness of programs.
Maintains accurate records of student-athlete’s progress within the SC program.
Reports all progress to the appropriate head coaches.
May establish internship programs to serve the general student body and intercollegiate athletics.
Manages all daily scheduling, staffing, maintenance, upkeep and capital projects associated with the Carpenter-Trout Strength Training facility.
Advises student-athletes and staff of applicable intercollegiate athletic rules, regulations, and University policies and ensure compliance of such regulations in relation to strength & conditioning especially related to NCAA banned substances and athletic nutrition.
Assumes responsibility to student-athlete compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. Assist the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics in resolving cases where a student-athlete violates an applicable regulation.
Submits monthly work schedules to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and comply with schedule once approved.
Attends appropriate athletic departmental staff meetings.
All other duties as assigned.
