Salem College is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, a vibrant college town known as the “City of Arts and Innovation”. The Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Coordinator is a dual role which has oversight of pool and facility maintenance and coaches the Swim Team. This person will need to be able to solve on-the-job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations. The Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Coordinator must be able to enforce pool policies and be able to communicate effectively why policies are in place. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that reports to the Director of Athletics.
While performing the responsibilities of the Head Swimming Coach and Aquatics Coordinator, this incumbent must have the ability to work inside and outside and to perform duties in various weather conditions. The ability to stand for varying lengths of time and traveling moderate distances to perform work at the athletic event locations. The ability to bend, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds. The ability to move athletic event-related equipment and materials to and from athletic event sites.
