The Head Track and Field Coach will coach student-athletes; prepare the team for HCAC conference/non-conference competitions with the goal to compete nationally. The position will plan and direct team and player development and training; skills development in team practices/workouts and individual skill sessions; organize and execute team practice and conditioning sessions. The position will evaluate athletes’ performances and make the final decision regarding participation in competitions.The position will assess opposing team members and devise game strategies.
The position will support student-athletes to thrive academically; integrate student-athletes with Institutional and department services; act as spokesperson for the department as well as provide leadership to local and other initiatives. The position will understand and comply with all NCAA Division III compliance, HCAC, and Institute rules and regulations. The position will supervise the activities of Assistant and part -time coaches; work in collaboration with the trainers and other staff (equipment, sports information, facilities) assigned to the team. The position will identify, evaluate, and manage ongoing annual recruitment of prospective athletes; develop and finalize the selection process for prospective athletes; conduct official and unofficial visits, evaluating high-school, club, and collegiate sports programs (National or International).

Apply NowThe position will develop and implement practice plans schedule competition, make transportation plans and arrange lodge for team travel. The position will oversee program’s allocated budgets and must remain within budget limits; recommend by Athletic Director preferred purchases. The position will lead and support alumni and friends activities; responsible for fundraising and meeting established annual fundraising goals.
Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor's degree in a sports-related field and 2-3 years of playing and/or coaching experience or a bachelor’s degree in another field and 4-5 years of playing and/or coaching experience.
Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree; demonstrated ability to recruit academically oriented student-athletes; Division III coaching experience.
