The Head Track and Field Coach oversees all aspects of the university's track and field program, both on and off the field. This role involves mentoring student-athletes, providing academic guidance, and fostering personal development. The coach is responsible for recruitment, budget management, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with NAIA regulations. Additionally, they create a supportive and safe environment conducive to academic, athletic and personal growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit student-athletes to fulfill roster and recruitment objectives.
Manage and monitor the allocated budget in accordance with university guidelines.
Schedule inter-collegiate games/meets within NAIA, conference, and college policies.
Ensure adherence to NAIA policies and regulations, effectively communicating them to stakeholders.
Coordinate pre-game and game arrangements, including equipment, travel, facilities, and personnel.
Develop and implement practice schedules within university policies.
Instruct, advise, and coach the team during meets and practices, promoting respect and upholding the university's values.
Serve as a Representative to promote the Track & Field/Cross Country programs as well as the Briar Cliff University Athletic Department.
Assist with fundraising and general sports promotion efforts.
Participate in university committees as assigned.
