Just minutes from campus are the country’s largest water parks, scenic Delaware Water Gap Recreation Area, Appalachian Trail, and other opportunities for recreational fun.
As the Head Women's Basketball Coach, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable supporting the Women’s Basketball Program. You will be an active member of the Athletics team and will work closely with the Athletic Director to implement the Women’s Basketball Program. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your coaching experience and basketball skills while recruiting new student athletes.
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, knowledge of the NCAA and PSAC programs, and previous basketball coaching experience.
As an athletics coach, you have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Warrior. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed - all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming.
What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
·Responsible for all aspects of basketball program, including recruitment, execution of the program, player direction and support, and any other duties.
·Must complete NCAA DII education modules prior to August 1 of each year.
·Research and obtain knowledge on all policies and procedures involving the ESU basketball program, including but not limited to PSAC, NCAA, compliance regulations, ESU Athletics, etc.
·Responsible for all administrative aspects of the basketball program, such as use of the ARMS program, recruitment travel documents, purchasing tasks, etc.

·Department fundraising, clinics, camps, and other events. Emphasis on fundraising and clinics/camps to meet grant and aid goals each year.
·Responsible for practice planning, game preparation, and in-game coaching. Also, all team supervision, including when traveling, and for pre-season activities
·Seek self-improvement on the basketball program by attending clinics, workshops, seminars, and other related professional development programs.
·Adhere to all rules, guidelines, dress codes, and behavioral/integrity standards while representing ESU’s basketball program.
·Administrative duties include form completion/management, budget/purchasing tracking, schedules, academic requirement tracking for players, and other admin duties as assigned.
·Inventory of equipment, uniforms, and other athletic apparel and items
·Performs related work as required.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
·Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
·Ability to manage collegiate athletes by being a role model in all aspects of timeliness, integrity, dignity, and respect.
·At least 1 year of previous work experience coaching basketball athletes is required, preferably at the collegiate level, however, 2+ years of experience coaching at a high school or club coaching level is acceptable.
·Previous knowledge and work experience with compliance to athletics rules and regulations, such as NCAA or PSAC is required.
·Highly skilled in Women’s Basketball skills and techniques, with the ability and patience to teach skills to others.
·Ability to attend all practices, games, clinics, etc., including travel. This includes the ability to work outdoors and in the elements for extended periods of time.
·Technical skills: Word (tables, reports, merging), Excel (formulas, pivot tables, graphs), and MS Teams. Banner experience is helpful.
·Able to think critically and apply critical thinking skills to solve problems independently; make independent decisions that support the needs of the University and its students
·Able to quickly pivot between work tasks when unplanned events occur that need immediate attention
·Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English; able to create clear verbal and written messages.
