Duty 1 -
Provides direction and leadership for the university's varsity Women's Cross Country and Distance Track programs.
Duty 2 -
Plans and manages practices; coordinates with assistant coach (s); instructs student-athletes.
Duty 3 -
Recruits high achieving student-athletes; evaluates players; communicates with coaches and players.
Duty 4 -
Advises and monitors the academic progress of student-athletes; coordinates tutoring and study hall.
Duty 5 -
Purchases program equipment; submits requisitions for equipment purchases.
Duty 6 -
Coordinates team travel; reserves transportation for away competition; prepares expense reports and travel authorizations; coordinates meals and hotels.
Duty 7 -
Manages program budgets, including scholarship, travel, operating, and recruiting budgets.
Duty 8 -
Coordinates the scheduling and recruitment of outside rentals for the Cross-Country facility.
Duty 9 -
Manages the Cross-Country facility maintenance in conjunction with University Facilities department.
Duty 10 -
Liaison with the Athletic Training staff regarding student-athlete health and rehabilitation.
Duty 11 -
Lead and conduct team fundraising efforts.
Duty 12 -
Promotes the Women's Cross-Country program to the community.
Duty 13 -
Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as defined by the Jeanne Clery Act.
Duty 14 -
Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Knowledge and level of competency are commonly associated with the completion of a bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Required Experience
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions in order to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years of experience or service.
Skill in the recruiting, coaching, and training of collegiate-level student athletes.
Knowledge of university-level athletic program management principles.
Knowledge of Volleyball rules and procedures.
Knowledge of Peach Belt Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in oral and written communication.
