Lawrence University invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Flag Football Coach. The inaugural season will take place in Spring 2027, offering a unique opportunity to build a new program that will contribute to the growth and success of Lawrence Athletics.
The Head Coach is responsible for the overall organization, development, and administration of the women’s flag football program. This includes recruitment, student-athlete development, competitive success, and alignment with the academic mission of Lawrence University. The successful candidate will establish a strong team culture and serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes both on and off the field.
Lawrence is a proud member of the NCAA Division III and the Midwest Conference, competing with 24 varsity teams across multiple affiliations. The addition of women’s flag football expands Lawrence’s commitment to offering a broad-based athletics experience for scholar-athletes.
Responsibilities
Recruit and retain student-athletes who are prepared to succeed academically and athletically at Lawrence University.
Be familiar with and abide by NCAA and Lawrence University rules, regulations, and policies.
Plan, organize, and execute all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III women’s flag football program.
Develop and manage an independent competitive schedule, building relationships with peer institutions and pursuing future conference opportunities.
Conduct practice sessions that emphasize skill development, fundamentals, safety, and team culture.
Support the academic progress of student-athletes by monitoring performance and ensuring accountability throughout the academic year.
Prepare and oversee a zero-based operational budget, ensuring fiscal accountability.
Work with the Compliance Director to maintain student-athlete eligibility and adherence to NCAA regulations.
Coordinate team travel, including transportation, lodging, and meal arrangements.
Manage the purchase, issuance, and inventory of team equipment and uniforms.
Collaborate with athletic trainers, sports information staff, and other campus partners.
Enhance professional growth through clinics, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
Assist with game day management of assigned sport.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Minimum Requirements
3-5 years of successful coaching experience.
Established recruiting based.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree preferred.
First aid and AED certification needed prior to conducting athletics related activities.
Must have successful completion of criminal and MVR background check, meet University Authorized Driver Policy requirements, and favorable completion of reference checks.
