Transylvania University invites applications for the full-time position of Head Women’s Golf Coach. Transylvania, founded in 1780, is the nation’s 16th oldest institution of higher learning and is consistently ranked in national publications as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. Transylvania is located blocks from downtown Lexington, KY, in central Kentucky. Transylvania is a proud member of NCAA Division III.
Responsibilities include organizing and directing all aspects of a successful and competitive collegiate program. The recruitment of qualified student-athletes and a demonstrated commitment to their personal, athletic, and academic success are essential. Responsibilities also include supervision of recruiting, travel management, scheduling, player development, budget management, fundraising, rules compliance, and academic monitoring. Secondary duties will include athletic administration/event management. This is a full-time ten-month appointment.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) and a minimum of three years of experience with evidence of a proven coaching record (successful high school or collegiate experience, including student-athlete recruitment and an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred) and effective communication/organizational skills. Also, candidates should have an athletics philosophy compatible with a Division III liberal arts college with highly selective academic standards.
