Governors State University welcomes applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Head Women’s Volleyball Coach. The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for the overall management of the Women’s Volleyball program, to include:
50% Oversee the technical and tactical development through practices, games, and classroom instruction.
15% Oversee the academic progress of women’s volleyball student-athletes.

5% Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.
5% Promote the women’s volleyball program through, camps, clinics, talks, events, and media.
5% Manage the budget for women’s volleyball.
5% Coordinate and/or facilitate special projects as needed.

Other Responsibilities:
· The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for the supervision and coaching of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) student-athletes, under the guidelines of the University, Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) andNAIApolicies and procedures.
· Attend and participates in all training, games, preparation, and team related functions.
· Must be able to demonstrate ability to recruit students-athletes.
· Promote the Governors State University Athletic Brand.
· Work proactively without close supervision and demonstrates initiative.
· Assists with questions and problems courteously and promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in higher education administration, educational leadership, sports management or administration, discipline of higher education from an accredited institution.
· The candidate must have a thorough understanding of principles, practices and procedures involved in collegiate athletics development, theoretical models, best practices, and current trends supporting the athletic fundraising.
· Two or more prior years of experience preferred related to college athletics coaching and administration.
Preferred Qualifications
· Three years of supervisory experience.
