Position Summary Information
| Position Purpose |
The primary function of this position is to serve as Head Coach of the Women’s Volleyball team at Lock Haven. This position is responsible for the management, development, and implementation of all aspects of a Division II women’s volleyball program including but not limited to: budgeting, fundraising, planning, evaluating, organizing, scheduling, recruiting, skill instruction, student-athlete & staff development, academic support, and game plan development.

| Description of Duties |
Develop a competitive NCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball program in a manner consistent with the philosophy, core values, and guidelines of NCAA Division II, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and Lock Haven.
Demonstrate compliance with all NCAA Division II and PSAC rules; including timely submission of all compliance forms, adherence to all compliance policies and procedures, and attendance of mandatory NCAA rules education sessions. Coaches will be held accountable for all NCAA Division II rules compliance, and compliance will be part of the yearly evaluation process.
Fundraise, market, and promote Women’s Volleyball in an effort to increase local and regional exposure of Lock Haven and Lock Haven Women’s Volleyball.
Work in conjunction with Athletic Administration and the LHU Advancement Office to develop a fundraising strategy to enhance the Women’s Volleyball program.
Provide leadership for the establishment of team rules, strategic vision, playing philosophy, development of student-athletes and staff, game plan development, training strategy, recruiting strategy, budget management, non-conference scheduling, and academic performance.
Develop and Coordinate Women’s Volleyball summer camps, clinics and tournaments annually.
Ability to demonstrate volleyball skill instruction.

Will move decisions about budget planning, compliance issues, and larger institutional priorities to the Associate Director and/or to the Director of Athletics

| Fiscal Responsibility |
- Develops and monitors operating budgets in cooperation with the Director of Athletics.
- Develops and administers NCAA scholarship budget and monitors this with the Department Secretary.
- Is responsible for fundraising efforts and Alumni engagement activities that benefit the Women’s Volleyball program, the Department of Athletics, and Lock Haven.

- Will supervise graduate assistant, volunteers, managers and student employees associated with the Women’s Volleyball program.

| Minimum Requirements Profile |
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Successful college volleyball coaching experience or equivalent professional or club experience.
- Strong interpersonal, organization/administrative skills
|
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Masters Degree is preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a tenure of successful head collegiate volleyball coaching experience – preferably at an NCAA institution.
- Budget management experience.
- Fundraising and alumni cultivation experience.
- Effective computer knowledge.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in recruiting.

In order to qualify for a provisional appointment, the Applicant Acknowledgement Consent Form, Provisional Hire Form, Pennsylvania State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process must be successfully completed prior to your start date. The remaining PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance must be successfully completed and returned as soon as possible within the first 90 days of employment.
