The University of Southern Maine Department of Athletics is searching for an Interim Head Coach for our Men’s Basketball program. This is a fixed-length, academic-year appointment starting as soon as possible through mid-June 2025. The Interim Head Coach is responsible for the overall organization, administration, and development of USM’s Division III Intercollegiate men’s basketball program. The Head Coach will work to create a positive culture, provide leadership and guidance to team members and create an environment where student-athletes are challenged, supported, and can experience success while growing as individuals.The Head Coach will direct all practice sessions, coach all games, travel with the team, develop an effective recruitment and retention program, and maintain appropriate standards for the program. Where feasible, the Head Coach will attend and contribute to department meetings, support departmental and institutional initiatives, support student success, participate in community service, build alumni and community relationships and outreach activities, conduct fundraising activities as approved by departmental administration and will be focused on student satisfaction, customer service, and take part in annual program review.

This is a fixed-length position that will serve until mid-June 2025. This position will be primarily located on the USM Gorham campus and requires travel.
