The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Intern to support home athletic event planning and management during events. Works with game day management to monitor parking lots and staff and ensure everything is in working order for game day events as well as non-game day events hosted at the Athletic Association’s facilities. Monitors weather for athletic events. Assists with facility maintenance inspections, security, set up and tear down and day-to-day management. Interns are required to live on-site in housing provided by the UAA.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Intern to support home athletic event planning and management during events. Works with game day management to monitor parking lots and staff and ensure everything is in working order for game day events as well as non-game day events hosted at the Athletic Association’s facilities. Monitors weather for athletic events. Assists with facility maintenance inspections, security, set up and tear down and day-to-day management. Interns are required to live on-site in housing provided by the UAA.

This is a time-limited position with an option for a second year if essential criteria is met. This position has an approximate start date in August 2024.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills

Ability to multi-task effectively

Ability to regularly lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Ability engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds

Ability to work a non-standard work schedule which will include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays and potential overnight travel

Ability to live on-site in UAA provided housing

Preferred Qualifications:

Enrollment in graduate school

Prior experience in athletics operations and facility management
