POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for a Landscape Specialist/Spray Tech to cultivate and care for the landscaping and grounds surrounding the intercollegiate athletic facilities on the University of Florida campus. This includes planting shrubbery, trees, flowers, and sod according to an ornamental landscape design; utilizing various tools and equipment to maintain the grounds; maintaining the irrigation system; and applying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for a Landscape Specialist/Spray Tech to cultivate and care for the landscaping and grounds surrounding the intercollegiate athletic facilities on the University of Florida campus. This includes planting shrubbery, trees, flowers, and sod according to an ornamental landscape design; utilizing various tools and equipment to maintain the grounds; maintaining the irrigation system; and applying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.

This posting will remain open until a qualified candidate is chosen.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED or Degree

Two Years of landscape or grounds management experience

Valid Florida spray license

Experience with landscape design, irrigation systems/applicator equipment and processes, disease and insect identification and prevention.

Effective communication skills and attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as work independently

Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds

Ability to work a non-standard work week which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in horticulture
