Your Role on the Team

Under the general direction of the Director - Esports, this position is responsible for the management of the daily operations of the UCI League of Legends team.

The League of Legends team consists of highly-ranked athletes who are working towards their UCI degree. This position is responsible for all operational aspects of the team including active recruiting, facilitating tryouts, running practices, planning for competitions, and all team activities. The incumbent will manage and oversee League of Legends team practices, create daily and weekly strategic goals for individual athletes and the team, analyze and adapt to cross-regional meta trends, create and implement in-game strategies and team compositions, provide weekly video review for individuals and the team, encourage and support team bonding activities, study opponents and develop game plans for each match, as well as perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned.

Your Role on the Team

What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

• Minimum of two years of coaching experience with a collegiate, amateur, or professional League of Legends team.
• Knowledge of program activity and industry best practices. Experience dealing with a wide range of athletes.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization, internally and externally. Extensive champion, role, and game knowledge for League of Legends.
• Uses creative problem solving to deliver strong service orientation, program management, and sound judgment and decision-making; uses critical thinking skills to develop original ideas in a varied and challenging environment. Interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Client service minded focus, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills. Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties. Extensive knowledge and experience using Discord, Excel and other tools to organize, track and analyze individual and team communication and performance.
• Fluency in English
• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
• Red Cross CPR required.
• Standard First Aid Training Certification required.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of campus policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with social media sites such as Twitter, Instagram, Tik-Tok and others.
• Experience working in a professional League of Legends league.

Special Conditions:

• Must be willing to work in the evenings and on weekends when practices and competitions are most likely to be scheduled. Typically, practices occur between 5pm-10pm PT on weekdays. Matches are typically in the afternoons on weekends.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $25.77- $30.22 (Hourly).
