What we want
The Manager for Athletic Operations will be responsible for direct oversight Reed Arena and manages & coordinates building custodial, grounds and maintenance (SSC) as well as leading game-day set-up and breakdown operations for all home basketball and volleyball games.
Essential Duties/Tasks
VENUE MANAGEMENT - Coordinates maintenance issues throughout athletic venues to determine the need of maintenance or repairs. Oversees operations related to staff requests, including furniture/equipment moves and assembly, and performing light maintenance work. Oversees improvements to assigned department facilities including regular inspections for cleanliness, orderliness, maintenance, safety and ease of passage. Helps in the preparation of required work orders in coordination with Accounting and Budgeting groups to maintain financial and budget records as well as prioritize, track progress and communicate with coaches and staff concerning work. Manages the maintenance of general supply inventory, and equipment storage for assigned venues including organization and maintaining storage. Serves as after-hours contact for assigned venues. As needed, develops and oversees progress against high-level work plans, schedules, and budgets for large projects. Assists in the development and implementation of goals for assigned venue.
EVENT/GAME DAY VENUE MANAGEMENT - Responsible for leading and/or assisting game-day venue management for assigned venues, including set-up and breakdown of assigned athletic events. Serves as “on-call” venue manager for assigned athletic events, assisting with venue-related in-game management. Ensures venue is prepared for practice, competitions, and other scheduled activities. Assists Events Management department with special events, as needed.
GENERAL ADMINISTRATION - Oversees and supervises assigned department facilities including West Campus Operations staff, including hiring, training, scheduling as well as daily oversight of their tasks. Assists with access management for assigned venues. Maintains facility operations guides for assigned venues. Assists with branding at assigned venues and makes sure all branding is accurate in all assigned venues. Assists in the development and implementation of goals for assigned departments.
COMPLIANCE - Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.
