The Manager of Athletics Facilities and Event Management assists the Assistant Director of Athletics Facilities and Event Management in the day-to-day operations of Towson University Athletic Facilities, to include the Towson Center, TU Arena, Unitas Stadium, Soccer complex, Baseball complex, Softball complex, Field Hockey complex, tennis courts, and all TU athletic practice fields. Under general direction coordinates and communicates to coaches and appropriate staff information regarding use of all athletics facilities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist with the management of all indoor and outdoor athletic facilities including the Towson University Athletic Facilities, to include the Towson Center, TU Arena, Unitas Stadium, Soccer complex, Baseball complex, Softball complex, Field Hockey complex, tennis courts, and all TU athletic practice fields. This includes daily upkeep in conjunction with other support areas in the department and on campus.
Assist in the event management of football and men's basketball. Direct responsibility for the event management of volleyball, gymnastics, and women's lacrosse. This includes supervision of student/contractual staff, event set-up/breakdown, crowd control, and other administrative duties. This requires the coordination of and communication related to organizational operations meetings.
Supervision: Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising two (2) Coordinator of Athletics Facilities and Event Management positions. Ensures the staff is prepared to assist in the game day setup, game management, and breakdown. Also responsible for conducting performance evaluations
Scheduling: Responsible for coordination and scheduling of all above listed athletic facilities for both practice and competition for 19 NCAA Division I athletic teams. This position must communicate with coaches and athletic staff regarding availability and conflicts of facilities. This position also serves as a liaison with Events and Conference services for schedule of external events at all athletic facilities while maintaining a master calendar for all events scheduled for these facilities.
Management of special facility and maintenance projects as assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics Facilities and Event Management.
Assist in the management of the facilities & event management operating budget. This includes responsibility for a university procurement card that goes through audit process.
Management of the department's key database. This includes coordination of key card access for staff and student-athletes. This requires compliance in the university audit process.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics Facilities and Event Management.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience.
Excellent analytical, writing, and communications skills are necessary to be effective in this position.
Ability to work independently and be an effective team leader and team member. Preferred working knowledge of scheduling and handling of sports events.
Preferred:
Experience working in intercollegiate athletic department within Facilities and/or Events realm, preferably at managerial level. Strong computer skills and software knowledge.
Special Hours of work required: Schedule must be flexible to meet the departmental needs. This is a sustainable position.
Salary and Benefits
