Reporting to the Executive Associate Athletic Director, the Manager, Partner Relations is responsible for supporting a collaborative and sustainable revenue development plan for the athletics program with a direct focus on corporate partnerships. Responsible for working with the university’s contracted third-party multimedia rights holder, the position assists in the development of a comprehensive sales plan to maximize sponsorship revenue while collaborating to increase ticket revenue, awareness and engagement opportunities for UC San Diego athletic programs.
The Manager, Partner Relations will be responsible for all aspects of partnership agreement fulfillment and execution at events, applicable community outreach initiatives, and other promotional opportunities. The position will collaborate with various on and off-campus entities to further partnership opportunities that benefit the department and will adhere to athletic philosophy consistent with that of the UC San Diego Athletic Department and NCAA, and a commitment to diversity in all of its forms.

Experience and knowledge in athletics partnerships, sales, customer service and client services. Demonstrated ability in creating sales materials, presentations and applicable collateral that aligns with the university and department messaging and brand.
Problem-solving skills; multi-task, work with frequent interruptions, and effective listener. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to identify and implement methods, procedures, and policies. Ability to use good judgment for problem solving.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate and interact with persons of diverse backgrounds and personalities. Demonstrated ability to convey technical information and provide guidelines in a clear and professional manner, using diplomacy, tact and discretion in all interactions.
Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties. Demonstrated experience using applications, spreadsheets, databases, networks and software packages specific to the field. Proficiency in graphic and material design with PowerPoint and Photoshop or similar programs
Thorough understanding of maintaining brand equity, and ability to adhere to brand guidelines
Skilled in audience and stakeholder engagement strategies.
Demonstrated ability to use good judgment for problem solving; ability to asses data and situations and provide recommendations based on findings; ability to be proactive to avoid potential problems.
Proven ability to accurately and thoroughly complete electronic documents, with conscious attention to detail, and identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems or discrepancies.
Demonstrated skill in organizing, updating and manipulating data on a systematic basis. Ability to set up and accurately maintain data files for fast and easy access and retrieval.
Proven supervisory skills, including the ability to train, motivate, and evaluate student employees; to delegate tasks; to schedule sufficient staffing for simultaneous athletic events based on knowledge of all schedules and the needs for sporting events
Demonstrated ability to follow the athletic philosophy consistent with that of the UC San Diego Athletic Department and NCAA, and a commitment to diversity in all of its forms.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and create a positive interaction with internal and external partners, stakeholders and contractors
Must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards. Understanding and adherence to all Big West Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to implement a successful financial benefit to the department via corporate sponsorships, including identifying potential alliances, analyzing common interests and establishing the credibility and rapport necessary to negotiate sponsorships.
Work schedule will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to travel to out-of-town meetings and athletic competitions.
Valid Driver's License required. May participate in the DMV Pull program and maintain a clean DMV record.
Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check and DMV Check results.

This position is a campus security authority (CSA) for the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, which is a federal law requiring disclosure of information about crimes on and around campus.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $37,900 - $85,300 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $18.15 - $40.85
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
