Job Description:

Summary

The Marketing Manager for Student and Fan Experiences leads integrated marketing, communications, and brand awareness across Student Life, Van Wagner Sponsorship Sales, and Athletics to elevate student engagement, community engagement and University pride. Serving as a primary departmental liaison, this role provides creative direction and execution support across print, digital, and experiential touchpoints. The position balances end-to-end project management with self-service brand enablement, guiding projects from creative intake through production, delivery, and assessment. Additionally, the manager delivers hands-on, on-site marketing coordination and visual storytelling for signature University traditions to further Stag pride both on campus and in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrated Marketing & Strategy: Develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns that uphold University brand standards, amplify student engagement, and drive ticket sales and athletic awareness with an emphasis on increasing student attendance at athletic events.
  • Creative Direction & Brand Governance: Oversee print, digital, and social media concepts; establish brand guidelines and templates, including Canva resources, to support self-service models for clubs and departmental partners.
  • Athletics & Fan Experience: Collaborate with Athletics and Van Wagner Sponsorship Sales to support game-day student and fan engagement, ticket sales, and local partnership opportunities with the Town of Fairfield and local businesses.
  • Project Management & Intake: Manage marketing requests, including digital, design, and media tickets; track production schedules, approvals, timelines, deliverables, and partner revisions.
  • Partner Consultation & Relationship Management: Serve as the primary marketing liaison for assigned departments, meeting regularly with partners to assess needs, provide creative direction, and ensure alignment with University priorities.
  • Campus & Signature Event Execution: Provide day-of marketing and communications support for major University events, including Commencement Weekend, Orientation, Move-In, First Fairfield Friday, Alumni & Family Weekend, Tree Lighting, Holiday Events and Signature Basketball Games.
  • Event Communications Coordination: Coordinate digital and print communications for events, including digital boards, email, volunteer communications, news/recaps, arena AV assets, posters, flyers, pull-up banners, directional signage, programs, stickers, and photobooth signs.
  • Student Clubs & Engagement Support: Maintain a primarily self-service model for student clubs while establishing clear brand directives for logos and student-facing materials.
  • Visual Storytelling & Content Coordination: Manage photography resources for major events and identify and pitch compelling campus stories for social channels, Fairfield News, and Fairfield Magazine.
