Under the direction of the University’s Athletic Director the Head Men’s Basketball Coach will direct and assume the overall leadership of an NAIA program.
The preferred candidate must demonstrate an ability to convey and instill the fundamentals and tenets of basketball. The preferred candidate must also have the ability to develop pipelines that lead to the recruitment of talented scholar athletes. Must also understand and demonstrate the ability to lead practice. Plays the key role in game preparation. Arranges team travel. In conjunction with the Athletic Director participates in game scheduling. Provide leadership in the development of student athletes in the classroom, on the court and in the local community. In addition, to the tasks above the person selected for this position will monitor the eligibility and academic progress of student athletes to ensure eligibility and graduation. Manages equipment purchases, as well as fundraising activities, sports camps and seminars.
The preferred candidate must be detailed oriented, and fiscally responsible. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of NAIA, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Bachelor’s Degree with a Masters preferred. Previous experience in coaching Men’s Basketball at the intercollegiate (4-year collegiate program), or professional levels.
