Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach supports the Head Men’s Soccer Coach in the administration, development, and success of the Bethel University Men’s Soccer program. The position is responsible for assisting with coaching, recruiting, player development, academic support, and program operations while promoting the mission, values, and standards of Bethel University and its athletic department. The Assistant Coach contributes to creating a competitive, disciplined, and student-centered environment that emphasizes athletic excellence, academic achievement, character development, and sportsmanship.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
1. Assist with planning and conducting team training sessions, practices, and competitive preparations.
2. Assist with coaching during contests, including tactical instruction, player evaluation, and game management.
3. Support the recruitment of prospective student-athletes in accordance with Bethel University, conference, and NAIA regulations.
4. Participate in on-campus visits, evaluations, communications, and recruiting events as assigned.

6. Support the academic success, personal development, and retention of student-athletes.
7. Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling, travel planning, equipment management, and compliance documentation.
8. Collaborate with athletic department staff, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and academic services.
9. Promote positive relationships with students, parents, alumni, and the university community.
10. Uphold and enforce team rules, university policies, and athletic department standards.
11. Represent Bethel University in a professional and ethical manner at all times.
12. Perform additional duties as required or directed.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Collegiate, Academy, or high-level coaching experience
Strong recruiting and organizational skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, overnights, weekends, travel, and airport transportation
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Physical Requirements:
Work requires the physical demands of standing, bending, lifting, stooping or performing other work requiring light physical exertion (up to 30 pounds) on an occasional basis (up to 15% of time) and frequent walking; or moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on an intermittent basis (not a routine part of the job).

Work involves intermittent to occasional exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements; may involve some contact with potentially hazardous or harmful elements in providing administrative or support services.
