Job Summary

The University of Michigan-Dearborn (UM-Dearborn) invites applications for the position of Men?s Soccer Head Coach. The position will be responsible for all phases of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) program, within the University, Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), and NAIA rules and regulations. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to coaching and mentoring student-athletes, recruiting prospective student-athletes, scouting opponents, practice planning and game preparation, fiscal management of budget, fundraising, and game scheduling, and representing the University of Michigan-Dearborn. UM-Dearborn is among the top-tier comprehensive public universities in the Midwest with approximately 8,100 students, outstanding faculty and staff as well as beautiful facilities and grounds.

UM-Dearborn:

We are proud of our 50+ year history: UM-Dearborn was first created as the Dearborn Center of the University of Michigan in 1959. Ford Motor Company gave the University of Michigan approximately 200 acres, including beautiful grounds along the Rouge River in Dearborn, as well as $6 million to build the campus' first four buildings. The campus was initially established with an emphasis on cooperative education. In 1971, it became a four-year undergraduate school; with some master's-level graduate programs. Since then, the campus has experienced steady growth in both enrollment and in the range of programming to include undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral-level programs.

Responsibilities*

  • Comply with rules and regulations within the NAIA, WHAC, and University of Michigan-Dearborn.
  • Oversee the planning, organizing, directing, and implementing of all phases of an NAIA Men?s Soccer program.
  • Direct all recruiting efforts of prospective student-athletes regarding evaluations, official and unofficial visits, and high school or transfer student-athlete progress through the NAIA Eligibility Center.
  • Oversee all aspects of game preparation including practice and scouting reports.
  • Organize pre-season, in-season, and post-season preparation and coaching.
