Offensive Quality Control

Athletics Administration-Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh-(24000552)

Individual serves the Department of Athletics as Offensive Quality Control with responsibilities specific to football. The incumbent will report directly to the Head Coach. This position will assist the coaching staff by preparing and organizing materials essential to the successful operation of the football program. This includes responsibilities specific to practice and competition; recruiting; football operations; and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Practice and Competition related duties include the charting of plays and statistics, preparation of depth charts, preparation, and evaluation of game film directly with the coaching staff, and/or other managerial functions and duties. Recruiting duties include assisting in recruiting strategy, recruiting correspondence and coordinating and assisting with on-campus recruiting efforts. Operational duties include coordinating logistics relevant to practice, competition, team travel, and recruiting.

Job Summary

Analyzes game and practice videos, studies opponent’s game plan and schemes, and prepares reports for review by the head coach to recommend and facilitate the planning of offensive game strategies and position details. Assists with recruitment development of student athletes and prepares scouting reports. Coordinates and plans with coaching staff during off-season for defensive team objectives and identifies ways to improve the offense program.

Essential Functions

Practice and Competition related duties include the charting of plays and statistics, preparation of depth charts, organization and strategic preparation and evaluation of game film/video directly with the coaching staff, organization and strategic preparation of video of opponents to make the player meetings efficient, preparation of opponent reports for game preparation and/or other managerial functions and duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Assistant Coaches. All responsibilities are designed to assist coaches for preparation of their meetings and coaching sessions with student-athletes. The individual will attend coach meetings that do not involve direct coaching activities with student-athletes. Recruiting responsibilities include assisting the player personnel department with the recruiting strategy for those individuals identified by the coaching staff as priority athletic recruits. Assist coaches with travel preparation and visit with prospects and families while they are on campus. Other related responsibilities include corresponding with priority prospective student-athletes via social and electronic media, assisting the player personnel staff with the on-campus recruiting program, including the management and supervision of official and unofficial campus visits and researching methods to improve procedures.Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Football Operations and the Director of Football Operations with operational and logistical duties specific to practice and competition, including team travel and other administrative duties associated with practice and competition.

Physical Effort

Desk work, computer work, video work, phone work, attending meetings and athletic department events, and participating in city and campus tours. Individual also may be required to lift heavy equipment. Attend all practice sessions. Individual will lift heavy objects, stand, or walk the majority of the day. Travel will be required at various games and events. Individual will also travel to meetings and around campus for tours.
