Duties/Responsibilities

• Gain exposure and experience with all Olympic Sports teams and departmental services
• Provide sport-specific nutrition education to teams and engage in individual nutrition counseling with student-athletes
• Manage fueling stations for team sites, weight room, and centralized department sites
• Assist in managing undergraduate student interns and volunteers
• Oversee product and inventory management including receiving, deliveries, and storage room organization, including Fueling Station maintenance and quality/ food safety standards
• Assist with Training Table meals and planning pre-competition and recovery meals, and provide counsel for proper nutrient timing and plate coaching
• Facilitate departmental nutrition education, campaigns, and social media outreach
• Perform body composition assessment using BodPod and DXA technologies
• Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate nutritional supplements

| Position Summary |
The Sports Nutrition Intern position provides experiential learning and sports nutrition practice in the collegiate setting. Initial experiences for the intern will be geared towards exposing the individual to all areas of Georgia Sports Nutrition operations and assisting full-time sports dietitians with all Olympic Sport team fueling and player management. Then, the intern will transition to full team coverage and responsibilities with experience and mastery.
