Part-Time Administrative Assistant - Athletics
The part-time Administrative Assistant reports to the Director of Athletics. The position works out of the Troop Center and consists of 20 hours per week. This position has daily contact with coaches, Athletic Department staff, and student-athletes. Ashland University offers 24 varsity sports and annually works with approximately 725 student-athletes.
Provide support for all coaches and staff located in the Troop Center. This includes football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and field, women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s tennis, the equipment coordinator, the strength and conditioning coordinator, and athletic trainers.
Interact with the public on a regular basis, greeting visitors to the Troop Center, and being stationed at the center of the office complex on the second floor. Responsible for answering the Troop Center telephone.
Maintain coach/staff case and trophy cases and submit maintenance work orders and information technology tickets.
Coordinate the schedule calendar for meetings and events in the Troop Center and the Troop meeting rooms (VIP Room, Gridiron Club Room, Room 100). Work in tandem with the Director of Game Operations to coordinate and schedule athletic fields.
Prepare ALI and NLI documents for all sports housed in the Troop Center.

Maintain database of recruits for all coaches. Provide support for all recruit visit activities. Help coaches prepare travel itineraries and travel roster forms that are submitted to Safety Services.
Assist football coaching staff in preparation for game day and practices, preparing documents for the head coach and assistant coaches as requested.
Work with the AU Marketing Department to order business cards, flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials.
Provide assistance on football game days. This could include helping coordinate special programs, assist with ticketing, registering special groups and visitors, and helping maintain the Troop Center for visitors.
Provide clerical support, as needed for the Football Gridiron Club. This could include help with Club membership, the Locker Legacy program, the Kickoff Brunch, the Gridiron Gold Member Dinner, and the year-end football banquet.
Assist the Director of Game Operations in the preparation and execution of summer sports camps. This would include scheduling camps on the calendar, working with electronic camp brochures, and maintaining camp mailing data base for various sports as well as other tasks.
Submit work orders with Facilities, Information Technologies, Auxiliary Services, and other campus offices.
Work with coaches and staff in helping to produce memos and other forms of correspondence.
Work in various capacities with the Director of Athletics, two assistant athletic directors, Game Operations Director, and athletic communications staff.
Hire, schedule and supervise office work study students in the Troop Center.
Other duties as assigned.
