JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Scranton, a member of the Penn State University Athletic Conference is accepting applications for Assistant Coach in the sport of Baseball within the Department of Athletics. This is a part time non-benefited position that carries with it an in-season monthly stipend and hourly pay in the off season. The Assistant Coach will be responsible for competition and practice preparation and coaching, player development, recruiting and administration under the Head Coach. The successful candidate must be well versed in the sport of baseball with previous coaching and/or playing experience. This position requires strict adherence to the PSUAC, United States Collegiate Athletic Association, and NCAA rules as well as all university policies and procedures.

Primary hours are in-season from February to April, however off-season work is required.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
