Part-Time Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach
Apply NowThe PT Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach will report to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all phases of the Women’s Lacrosse Program, including supporting the overall development and education of student-athletes, the recruitment of competitive student-athletes for
JCU
, assisting with daily operations, practice implementation, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach. Requires a variable schedule; nights, weekends, and travel for away games.
Support the overall development and education of student-athletes as they pursue excellence in the classroom, on the field, and in other areas of the university.
Work with the Head Coach & staff to develop and strengthen team culture.
Assist coaching staff with on-field instruction, including implementing and leading drill instruction and providing constructive feedback to student-athletes.
Assist with coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop student-athletes’ skill, individual and team performance.
Assist in scouting opponents and breaking down film.
Participate in evaluation and recruitment of competitive prospective student-athletes.
Help coordinate and organize on-campus visits for prospective student-athletes.
Participate in pre-season and post-season meetings as appropriate.
Attend rules education sessions and complete necessary compliance forms upon request.
Follow all University and
NCAA
policies and regulations.
Exhibit enthusiasm towards athletes and display respect for the entire program (i.e. officials, opponents, parents, schools, property, equipment, etc.).
Maintain fair, consistent, and appropriate relationships with student athletes.
All other duties as assigned.
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize effectively, teach fundamentals and techniques associated with the sport.
Coaching experience as head or assistant coach at the high school level or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain certifications in
CPR
and
AED
.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently.
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse constituencies.
Must understand and comply with
NCAA
, conference, and University rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Interest in understanding and supporting John Carroll’s mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution.
Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
Demonstrated ability to motivate students in a positive manner.
Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership and to serve as a positive role model as a coach and colleague.
Travel involved. University core business hours are generally 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. However, this position will require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on the nature of competitive and recruiting schedules.
Ability to demonstrate the physical movements of the sport. Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight.

Exempt (Salary)
Pay Rate: $6,000- $10,000 commensurate with qualifications.
