Job Description:

Job Summary

The Assistant/Goalkeeper (GK) Coach for Women's Soccer is responsible for assisting in planning and administering all goalkeeper instruction with the oversight of the head coach. He/she will also assist with other aspects of the Women's Soccer Program as assigned. Under the direction of the Head Women's Soccer Coach, the Assistant & Goalkeeper Women's Soccer Coach should model and maintain an exemplary student-athlete concept and the personal development of a student athlete who's on and off field behavior reflects favorably upon the Our Lady of the Lake community in general and the athletics program in particular The Assistant/GK Coach is expected to maintain a positive public image and uphold a standard of professionalism that reflects favorably upon Our Lady of the Lake University and the Saints Athletic Program. All actions, communications, and media, both public and private, that are associated with the coach should demonstrate integrity, respect, and alignment with the mission and values of the OLLU community. This includes behavior on social media, during public appearances, in interactions with student-athletes, and in all professional settings.

Performance Evaluation Metrics

1. Responsible for organizing and conducting goalkeeper training daily. A minimum of 3 sessions per week
2. Assists with scouting and recruitment of quality student-athletes maintaining a minimum of 10 official visits per calendar year.
3. Ensure the maintenance of a overall team GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Essential Functions

1. Responsible for organizing and conducting goalkeeper training daily. A minimum of 3 sessions per week
2. Responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach in all areas of the Women's Soccer program.
3. Improve Player Development. Meeting with players at least once a week to help with IDP's and Video Analysis.
4. Participates in public relations activities and fundraising.
5. Ensures the highest professional standards and behavior regarding adherence to NAIA rules and regulations.
6. Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary, personal matters while adhering to FERPA guidelines.
7. Participates in annual continuing education programs regarding NAIA rules.
8. Coordinate and assist administration with home and visiting team's game day activities (schedule practices, setup and breakdown of equipment, personnel, field set up, etc.).
9. Assists in special events and tournaments, championships, fundraisers, and/or clinics to include, but not limited to, major fundraisers, camps, and/or clinics.
10. Subscribes and adheres to the NAIA Coaches Code of Conduct.
11. Adhere and promote the NAIA Champions of Character student development.
12. Attend all scheduled meetings.
13. Assist in enrolling student-athletes according to OLLU Admissions policies and standards.
14. Adhere to Residence Life procedures to securing housing accommodations.
15. Communicate effectively with all academic/faculty advisors, financial aid, business office, registrar and other university personnel.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Participates in Student Affairs Division programs and activities.
2. Serves as liaison for the university community of faculty, staff, students and administrators.
3. Adhere to university policies, state and federal laws concerning Title IX, HIPPA, and FERPA policies.
4. Contribute and support the university vibrancy initiative.
5. Assist with all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Thorough knowledge of fundamentals, technical aspects, and strategy for assigned sport.
2. Ability to recruit and retain qualified athletes and to facilitate timely progress toward graduation.
3. Effective oral and written communication skills.
4. Ability to learn, apply and adhere to NAIA rules and regulations.
5. Ability to interact well with officials, coaches, parents, media, and the public.
6. Ability to work with students of all faiths and mentor student-athletes.
7. Demonstrated leadership skills.
8. Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
9. Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekend and evening hours.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2. Experience with VEO video analysis software preferred
3. Requires a minimum of three years of coaching experience, preferably in a college or university setting, with at least one year of experience coaching soccer or four years of collegiate or any professional competition experience will be accepted in lieu of coaching experience.
