Purpose: The Assistant Volleyball coach is responsible for assisting in the direction and
management of the Varsity Volleyball program at the direction of the Head Volleyball Coach.

Essential Functions:

 Assist the Head Volleyball Coach in all areas of the operation of the varsity program.
This includes but is not limited to: assist in planning and conducting practice, assist in
recruiting efforts, assist in game planning and game coaching, assist in the pre- and post-
season conditioning program.

 Assist the Head Volleyball Coach by arranging transportation for away games. Be
responsible for all aspects of home game management. Secure all necessary
documentation for player eligibility. Operate within the budget of the Volleyball
program.

 Assist in the overall supervision of the student-athletes in the Volleyball program.

Required Qualifications:

 Advanced knowledge related to coaching and training volleyball players.
 Sufficient computer and technological skills required to operate e-mail, internet, MS

Office, fax, copier, phone, and organizational materials.

 Required to maintain effective working relationships with others; handle confidential
matters with tact and discretion; exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and
making decisions; communicate clearly.

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in KALS or Wellness related area

Experience:

Preferred: College Volleyball experience

Equipment:

 Standard office equipment: personal computer, fax, printers, and copiers. Strong PC

skills, especially scheduling software.

Physical Requirements:

 Stand for extended periods of time; sit, climb, pull, squat, bend, kneel, and reach; lift 45

lbs safely.

Special Requirements:

 Must be a member of a local evangelical* Christian church.

*Evangelical is a broad term referring to segment within Christianity which maintains the
authority of the Bible and the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone.
