JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Schuylkill, located in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, is a member of the USCAA and Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC), and is accepting applications for the part time Assistant Coach of the Women's Volleyball Team.
This part-time position is responsible for assisting the head coach with all aspects of the Women's Volleyball program, including evaluating and recruiting academically qualified and talented student-athletes.
General Responsibilities
Assist with practice and competition coaching.
Assist with the recruitment of academically qualified and skilled student-athletes.
Help to arrange weekly practice schedules on the field.
Help to provide vision and leadership to create a positive team culture.
Provide feedback for the Director of Athletics to nominate and select weekly/season conference and national awards.
Assist with the development of opportunities to participate in service activities and encourage participation in community service. Use these opportunities to teach life lessons about respect, hard work, the value of education, and service to others.
Education
Required - High school diploma.
Preferred - Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
Work Experience
Required - Coaching or playing experience at the high school level.
Preferred - Collegiate coaching experience.
Skills
Proficient communication skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.
Knowledge of USCAA and PSUAC student-athlete and institutional compliance rules and rules governing the play of various games.
Event and personnel management experience.
