Job Description
The Performance and Nutrition Coordinator/Assistant Coach for Athletics supports the Manager of Food Purchasing and Operations. This position works with the Performance Nutrition team and serves to assist with planning, directing, and/or coordinating the purchasing, ordering, and tracking of all food service activities as it relates to meals, the Nutritionist Elite Supplement Table, fuel zones and Gatorade stations within the Performance Nutrition department. Duties include, but are not limited to: Ordering and accepting of meals for the team; Ordering and accepting of grab-n-go snacks for the team; Liaison with Levy pregame meals and postgame meals; Organizing of meals and food for team travel; Liaison for student athletes and coaches for the team RD; and helping with distribution and monitoring of the supplements and hydration intake of the student athletes(cherry pills, muscle milk, Gatorade). This role will also be responsible for serving as an Assistant Coach for the Women’s Soccer program and will Instruct and teach athletes in fundamentals of soccer, coach technique and strategy. In addition, this role assists in selection of team members and recruiting activities in compliance with conference, NCAA, and OSU rules and regulations; monitors academic progress of student athletes; audits information from academic support services, ensures compliance with conference, NCAA, and University rules and regulations and supports, and assists the head coach in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including, but not limited to, scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, equipment. This role will work with specific sport teams and assist coaching staff in all aspects of managing logistical and operational needs in addition to nutritional needs for the teams.Â
