This is a professional position responsible for performing skilled photography and video work to capture and reproduce all athletic activities for the department as requested. Responsible for producing and editing content for use in print, video, and online formats. Coordinates with a small team of departmental photo and video staff as well as other departments regarding photography and other related media. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Associate Athletic Director (Strategic Communications).
Photographs original content for use in print and digital media, branding efforts, and communications programs.
Serves as lead photographer at football games.
Develops and executes creative content pieces that support the goals of the department and meet the needs of sports program coverage at the National Collegiate Athletics Association (
NCAA
) level.
Plans, produces, shoots, edits, and post-processes photographic and video content for delivery to print, video, and other digital platforms.
Assists the department’s social media channels with photos, graphics, and video content.
Provides information about photos and videos to support news releases, publications, social media, websites, informational materials or for dissemination.
Archives and maintains library of digital and photographic images and videos.
Scans photos for reproduction or transmittal to news media and other contacts.
Coordinates with departmental staff and other departments regarding photographic techniques, approaches, and applications.
Assists in maintaining supplies and inventory for photographic services.
Provides technical advice and assistance to student photographers.
Ensures quality, consistency, and conformity of departmental public relations, branding, advertising, promotional, and publication functions.
Adheres to all applicable
NCAA
, conference, and university rules and regulations.
May supervise the work of student and/or graduate assistants.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Knowledge of traditional and digital photographic and video techniques, including but not limited to black-and-white, color print, slide, and news media.
Knowledge of various types of photography including still, studio portraiture, group and team shots, and feature photography.
Knowledge of digital imaging technology, techniques, methods, and formats.
Skill in using computer applications including word processing, photo/video management, editing, publishing, and cataloging software.
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to operate audio, lighting, and video equipment for field and studio productions.
Ability to think conceptually and creatively.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to adapt to changes in technology related to area of responsibility.
Ability to work outside of normal working hours, including weekends and holidays, and/or off-campus and out of town.
Physical condition adequate to permit full performance of duties.
Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including ability to stand up for more than an hour at a time, sit for more than an hour at a time, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, lift up to 25 lbs., push up to 25 lbs., talk, and hear as well as close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Bachelor’s degree in photojournalism, photography, or a related field is required. Related experience may be substituted for required education on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.
One year of professional experience using digital cameras, scanners, and compatible software is required.
Experience using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom is preferred.
This is a security-sensitive position subject to criminal record check.
This is an IT-sensitive position subject to the Computer and Network Security policy.

TRS
) retirement plan, subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
