Williams College invites you to join our vibrant academic and athletic community as the Physical Education, Athletics & Recreation Department Coordinator , serving as the essential partner to the Department Chair/Athletic Director in advancing our mission of athletic excellence and holistic student development.

The Athletic Department Coordinator serves as the central operational hub for the department, providing high-level administrative support to the Department Chair/Athletic Director and ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations. 

This full-time, year round position, reporting to the Department Chair, acts as the primary liaison between the department and internal and external constituents, managing complex scheduling, departmental communications, and student staffing, as well as acting as the chief curator of the department's public narrative, which includes creating engaging digital content, managing the departmental website, and designing internal and external announcements to reflect the College's mission.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Chair & Leadership Support

  • Manage the Chair’s complex calendar, assist with travel arrangements, and reconcile P-Cards.
  • Collect, synthesize, and summarize data for departmental reporting and trend analysis.
  • Prepare high-level communications and presentations; proofread, edit, and format official documents.
  • Maintain departmental records and track faculty evaluations in coordination with the Dean of Faculty’s Office.
  • Coordinate departmental job searches led by the Chair.
