SUMMARY/SCOPE:
The Production Coordinator at Hardin-Simmons University plays a vital role in managing and supporting various types of productions, including athletic events, campus activities, and live streaming. Under the guidance of the Director of Media Services and/or the Assistant Director of Media Productions, the Production Coordinator is tasked with ensuring the successful organization, setup, and execution of these events. This includes defining functional objectives, participating in media services projects, overseeing workflows, identifying and resolving problems, and evaluating work methods and procedures. Provide editing support for projects as assigned using Adobe Premiere Pro. Their efforts contribute to reinforcing the mission, vision, and values of Hardin-Simmons University.

Strategy
Responsible for managing and supporting various types of productions, including athletic events, campus activities, and live streaming.
Provides information and assistance to faculty, staff, student workers and/or students regarding the operation of audio, video, lighting, and assistive technology, and related devices and software.
Assists in the recommendation of audio, video, lighting, and emerging technology purchases, processes equipment and software orders; assists in the evaluation of equipment purchased and works with vendors to resolve problems.
Assists in planning processes and systems facilitating the organization, archival, viewing, and use of captured media resources both internally and externally.
Provide editing support for projects as assigned using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Collaboration
Assist Director of Media Services in the assessment of needs and seeks cooperative application of HSU media services strategy and best practices across all applicable university units.
Dialogue with clients and organizational staff about creative ideas, requirements, and challenges inherent to media service technology integration and projects.
Serve as a valued source of knowledge for technical video, audio, lighting, and staging for the HSU community, providing regular opportunities for training of student workers as well as faculty, staff, and students through campus education initiatives.
Collaborate with Media Services and University Marketing leadership and other team members; properly align campaigns, initiatives, marketing pieces, publications and projects together with media services for maximum impact.
Implementation
Lead, support, and coordinate live-event production for the execution and assistance of day-to-day presentations of athletic, campus, live streaming, and other HSU production needs and significant campus events.
Provide expert, production assistance in broadcast video, audio, lighting, and staging for HSU on and/or off-campus events.
Assist in the creation and administration of interactive and searchable archives of captured HSU content and other media resources utilized by the institution.
Develop and maintain detailed records to track media services resource assets, maintenance, repair, life expectancy of equipment and to plan for replacements.
Administration
Assist in overseeing student workers, fostering the team to ensure that there is strength in the media services area and new people are given opportunity to grow and develop.
Other duties as assigned by Media Services leadership.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree college in related field involving coursework in live-event production, broadcast, and/or computer science or visual production related field preferred.
Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Two years’ experience working with various types of computer software and hardware, operating broadcast video, audio, and lighting equipment required.
Two years of relevant live event production and team leadership experience required.
Must be exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with very advanced coordinating skills. Position requires great strength in organization and the implementation of production events across the university.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solution skills are required to work with a wide range of people and provide excellent, world-class live events for our university.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This is a Non-Exempt/Hourly, Part Time/No Benefits (19 Hours Per Week) Staff Position.
Working beyond a normal 19-hour week is a definite when events are scheduled, including irregular work hours including some nights and weekend work will be required as needed to meet project deadlines, etc.
All hours worked beyond 40 hours in a single work week will be compensated at time and a half, per FLSA guidelines.
Must have and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a clear driving record to be insurable under the university liability policy.
Must be able to drive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
