Organization's Summary Statement: The Program Assistant position within Maryland Men’s basketball serves in a versatile support role across daily program operations, coaching support, player development, video coordination, practices, and gameday responsibilities. This role works closely with the Head Coach, coaching staff, basketball operations staff, and student-athletes to help ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of the program.
Responsibilities:

Support recruiting visits, team events, travel logistics, and other basketball operations responsibilities as assigned

Physical Demands: The scope of the position frequently requires evening, weekend and holiday work (Non-standard work hours). While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc.; Constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events to service clients; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing and lifting up to 25 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Must have successful collegiate or professional level coaching experience. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations to recruit off-campus is required. Proven integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of college basketball is required. Candidate should possess a strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
Preferences: Previous experience in a fast-paced Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) department.
