This is a clinical position, working alongside the surgeons, providers, and all other members of the Pediatric Orthopedic team.This position will require you to travel to all current and future locations. We have locations in Salt Lake City, Riverton, Provo and Layton.
Rooms patients and obtain all pertinent medical history from patients/parents. Applies custom casts as well as the removal. Removal of surgical pins, sutures and other post-operative dressings in the clinic. Scribes clinic notes in EMR with minimal mistakes. Fits and instructs the patient on how to use braces, boots, crutches, splints and any other DME. Collects any pertinent medication information from EMR for future clinics. Orders imaging exams. Back office work, answering patients’ calls, preparing charts, and patient paperwork, making post-op calls, scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, obtaining prior authorization, checking in and outpatients. Charting in iCentra and EPIC.
Bachelor’s degree in a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); one year of experience as an athletic trainer; and demonstrated effective communication and human relation skills. National Athletic Trainers Association (N.A.T.A.) certification preferred.This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
