community can be proud of. This position will assist in the recruiting of potential student athletes and provide
complementary management of the program including practice, competitions, travel, purchasing and other duties
as assigned. The Assistant Coach will adhere to institutional, conference, and all other required regulations and
policies. The Assistant Coach assists all aspects of recruiting potential student athletes in order to maintain a
team that will compete. The Assistant Coach maintains knowledge of all institutional and Conference rules and
regulations for recruiting. The Assistant Coach assists in the overall management of the programs as directed by
the head coach (travel, practice, competition, etc.) but will have specific responsibilities in athletics also as
directed by the Head Coach.

Essential Job Functions:

 Maintains current sport-specific technical and coaching knowledge, develops existing members of the
program, assists in the organization of practice plans and competition, communicates and assists in
demonstrating specific required skills.
 Adheres to all institutional, Conference and all other rules, regulations and policies.
 Assists in the oversight of volunteer coaches and student workers to ensure that all team oriented duties
are completed in a timely manner.
 Acts as a liaison to help coordinate community service involvement.
 Assists Head coach in all academic matters pertaining to the team
 Assists in preparing training sessions.
 Handles all game day operations as directed.
 Completes day-to-day administrative and operational responsibilities as directed.
 Assists the athletics’ department in fundraising efforts and community outreach service
 Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or finishing degree within 1 year
 Previous collegiate coaching and/or playing experience at the Collegiate level
 Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Must possess excellent computer and social media skills
 Must be able to successfully complete a background check and NCAA recruiting test

Physical Demands

Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally), bending, and carrying.
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
