This position will work in a hybrid capacity with a combination of onsite and remote work.
This position will monitor, interpret, apply, and certify compliance with University, Big Ten, and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations for assigned sports, employing high level decision making and professional judgment. This work is highly dependent on data from a variety of systems and sources. They have the authority to apply independent discretion and professional judgment without supervisor approval in a variety of situations, including stakeholder management, issue resolution, and future work planning. This may also require the need to communicate directly with advisors within colleges/departments when validating an individual student-athlete audit. The incumbent needs to be cognizant that decisions regarding student athlete eligibility have serious implications for individual student-athletes, each athletic team, and the University's athletics program as a whole. This position is also responsible for working in collaboration with the senior leadership in the Office of the Registrar to review workload, prioritize initiatives, and address business process problems.
As this position relies heavily on the ability to independently interpret student degree progress data for University, Big Ten, and NCAA rules and regulations, it is essential that they be technology savvy and comfortable working with a variety of systems, which include (but are not limited to) Administrative Banner (including the use of queries), university endorsed degree audit software, Microsoft Office suite, Document Management software, Slate, and Google applications.
