Summary/Objective
This position works directly with the Head Field Hockey Coach to assist in all aspects associated with the operation of a successful NCAA Division I women’s field hockey program. Specifically, the assistant coach will coach student-athletes, providing instruction to develop overall athleticism, agility, skills, and understanding of the game. The assistant coach will utilize film to teach student-athletes. The assistant coach will assist in practices, providing direction during games, talent evaluation, and on and off-campus recruiting.

Essential Functions
Apply NowThis position provides game management, tactical adjustments, post-game analysis and evaluation, and skill instruction to members of the field hockey team. Instructs all student-athletes in fundamentals, training procedures, and workouts specifically designed to improve skills. Assists the head coach in instructing student-athletes during practices and games.
Evaluates prospective student-athletes in-person and through reports from high school and club team coaches on their athletic and academic performance. Keeps all recruiting and scouting records in good order and provides regular reports to the Head Coach on the recruitment status of prospective student-athletes. Reports any major concerns or attention for recruiting or scouting related issues to the Head Coach.
Performs administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Assists in the strength and conditioning program for women’s field hockey.
Work Environment
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-Time, 35 hours/week.
Specialist A.
Non-Exempt.
Travel locally, regionally and nationally for competition and potentially internationally for recruiting. After hours and weekend work frequently required to attend games and related athletic events
Salary Range
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree.
1-3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Commitment and ability to maintain and exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Previous experience as a field hockey athlete at the collegiate or professional level.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
